Dr. Sturtevant is the editor-in-chief of The Public Medievalist, a web-magazine devoted to revealing the links between the medieval past and present. He has published articles from some of the foremost up-and-coming scholars in the field, and several of his articles have gone vial. One, The Curious Case of the Weapon that Didn’t Exist, earned nearly 200,000 views within a week and rose to the second page of aggregator site Reddit.
Dr. Sturtevant has achieved acclaim for The Public Medievalist’s recent series on Race, Racism and the Middle Ages, which brought together more than a dozen scholars to deconstruct the “whites-only” narrative of the medieval past and its impacts on contemporary racist ideologies.
